Activity

Most of what Moe does happens where you are not looking. A reply goes out on Telegram while you are in a meeting. A briefing runs at seven and is gone by the time you sit down. Something Moe watches for you stops working and the only sign is a line in a file nobody opens. Settings › Activity is the one place all of that lands, newest first, under Today, Yesterday, then the weekday for the rest of the week and the date beyond that. Refresh at the top reads it again.

Pick the window at the top: Today, This week (the default) or Last 30 days. Four kinds of thing appear.

  • Conversations — the ones you had, one line per conversation per day, You and Moe went back and forth 6 times. Read opens it in Chats.
  • Replies from elsewhere — a turn that happened on Telegram, WhatsApp or any other chat you have connected. The row says where, when and which model answered, and how much was written on each side. It does not say what was said, and there is no button to find out: what is written down about a turn that happened elsewhere is that it happened. The conversation itself is in Chats if it reached this Mac.
  • Things that ran on a clock — your reminders and anything else on a schedule, gathered per day: Ran once, at 7:00 am for a morning briefing, Ran 152 times, last at 1:36 pm for something that ticks every couple of minutes, and how many of them stopped on a problem.
  • Things that stopped — a job that failed, with the first line of the reason and whether Moe has already told you.

Moe's own upkeep is folded away. The jobs that keep Moe current run a few hundred times a day between them, and almost none of it is about you; Show Moe's own upkeep puts them back. A failure is never folded away, whoever's job it was. A very busy window says how many older things are not shown, and narrowing the window shows further back in detail.

At the bottom, Underneath, is the raw log Moe's thinking part keeps for this Mac: Show the raw log shows the last forty lines, and Reveal in Finder puts you next to the file. It is there because sometimes the honest answer is "look at the log", and it is described as exactly what it is: not a complete record, and not filtered, so it can contain the text of turns.

This is this Mac. Moe Away runs on a machine of its own and keeps its own record there; nothing on this page can see it, and a quiet day here does not mean a quiet day there.
